The Old Mill Restaurant is situated just outside Outshoorn on the way to the Cango Caves, at The Oude Meul Country lodge and Game Farm
The restaurant is surrounded by mountains and a free flowing river, therefore it creates a relaxing yet romantic atmosphere. Wild game wander around on the premises and can be touched or fed from the deck. Seun, the Kudu, will come and look for some attention and bread, and Big Boy the Eland is very jealous. Always want to chase Seun away to get all the attention. Just think how your children will enjoy the other game like springbok, raindeer, swartwildebees etc!

The restaurant tenders for light meals to bus groups over lunch time. For these people a farm stop is also a very special experience and they give the guide a hard time to get them together and going again! The rooms of our nearby lodge is overlooking the fields where animal graze. To eat and to stay here in this very special environment is a great privilege.
Our starters vary from Pan Fried Creamy Garlic Mussels to Our famous Karoo Deli – Kudu & Vegetables skewered onto a stick served with Sweet & Sour Sauce. And much more.

All main dishes at the Old Mill Restaurant are served with a portion of salad, 2 kinds of Vegetables and a choice of Chips, Rice or Baked Potato. We serve some of the best Ostrich Fillets in town, Karoo Lamb grilled to perfection, Beef Fillet considered to be the best, Rump – All cuts are Super A-grade beef, Succulent Chicken Breast Grilled or Crumbled, Saucy 500g T-Bone, Springbuck and Kudu grilled to your taste, Tender Calamari Rings, Hake and Sole – Something from the shore and Tramazinis – Something on the light side for the “not so hungry.
