Business Chamber will promote interest of the town Mossel Bay
The business community of the town once again has a “joint voice” after the Afrikaans Business Chamber terminated a few years ago. The newly founded Mossel Bay Business Chamber will promote the interests of the town making it more competitive. We need to make Mossel Bay more attractive to investors and to create an environment for entrepreneurs to create career opportunities.We need to bring economical changes by means of education and training.

The CBD must be upgraded and made more interesting with new and exciting projects, seeing the current situation is not acceptable. Residential areas must be cleaned and upgraded. The unplanned and ugly developments give the town a bad reputation according to the chairman of the Business Chamber, Mr. Pierre Venter said to the Burger.
The town showed a phenomenal growth over the past few years and secured its position as a holiday and a retirement destination. Drastic measures are needed to upgrade and develop the business sector. It is therefore crucial to find new ways to stimulate the local economy. Especially if one bears in mind that PetroSA according to speculations will not play such a vital role in future as at present.
Mossel Bay needs to be competitive, not only localy, but global as well.
Greater emphasis will have to be placed on small businesses and industries to stimulate economic growth. A pre requisite for such a developments project is that the town and the local community must be competitive. To be competitive requires physical, intellectual and cultural assists of people with talents, skills and creativity. Mr. Pierre Venter believes that the town needs not only to be locally competitive. We need to be globally competitive with all the tourism coming from abroad. Services need to be excellent, facilities of world class standards and Mossel Bay needs to make visitors excited.
Soccer World Cup 2010 an opportunity not to be missed. Mossel bay must grab the oppertunity
According to Mr. Venter we have all it takes, we just need to develop and utilize it. How does one stay unique and stay on the fore front of opportunities? How does one utilize all the opportunities? Pierre believes that the Soccer World Cup 2010 will be such an opportunity and that Mossel Bay can not afford not to benefit by it and thus grab the opportunity.

We are very excited that Mossel Bay will be the host for the team and supporters of Paraguay. The Mossel Bay Business Chamber has organized an informative session at their next meeting. Mossel Bay’s representatives Mr. Louis Harris and Ms. Marcia Holm will address the meeting after their visit to America and to inform the members of the benefits of the tournament for Mossel Bay.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 13 October at 18:00 at Santos Express (Train Restaurant) and the cost will be R30 for members and R50 for non members. Refreshments and a cash bar will be available. The Mossel Bay Business Chamber would like to get all the business of the greater Mosel Bay area to get together to ensure that the town can offer competitive benefits.
Mr Pierre Venter said that it is time to stand to stand together and share ideas and expertise to have our facilities of world class standards.
